Baby Bloomers- Bears

This past Monday our Baby Bloomers were all about bears- brown bears, polar bears, coala bears, black bears...we even had a green stuffed bear.  Every week we continue to listen to some of our favorite songs "Rainbow Dancers" and "Skinnamarink". The babies love music and the bouncing rhymes and anything clapping. They liked the big pictures of the little girl and her teddy bear but weren't to interested on the play of words on Orange Pear Apple Bear. Our books were:

Orange Pear Apple Bear by Emily Gravett
Old Bear by Kevin Henkes
My Bear and Me by Barbara Maitland

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, turn around
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, reach up high
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the sky
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch your knees
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, sit down please

Action Rhyme: “Bears Eat Honey”
A bear eats honey (pretend to eat)

Song: “If You’re a Bear and You Know It”

Five Little Bears* fingerplay or use flannels.
One little bear
Wondering what to do
Along came another, then there were two
Two little bears
Climbing up a tree
Along came another
Then there were three.
Three little bears
Ate an apple core
Along came another
Then there were four
Four little bears found honey in a hive
Along came another,
Then there were Five! Credit: The Big Book of Stories, Songs & Sing Along

Flannel: 5 Little Bears (finger play)
5 little bears were dancing on the floor
one fell down and that left 4
4 little bears climbed up a tree,
one found a bee hive that left 3.
3 little bears were wondering what to do,
one chased a bunny rabbit that left 2.
2 little bears were looking for some fun,
one took a swim that left 1.
1 little bear sitting all alone
he looked all around then ran home.

Closing song: “We Wave Goodbye Like This”
